Is this your first year in network marketing? With promises of stacks full of money and financial freedom at every corner, it’s easy to see how Network Marketing can get a bad name.
Due to the state of the economy, more and more people are forced to look for alternate sources of income to survive. I can’t count the number of people that I’ve heard stories about that had been let go from companies where they had worked for over 20 years. It’s actually very sad when you think about it.
While you can find different network marketing opportunities around every corner, don’t start thinking you are going to strike it rich over night. You have to take the time to not only build some relationships with people, but you have to know how to market as well.
It’s been said that most people who are going to enter a MLM opportunity are going to fail. But why do you think that is? Is it because they don’t want it bad enough or is it more because they just don’t know how to make it work. Usually what happens is someone who is knew winds up on some type of conference call for a particular MLM opportunity. If this is your first year in network marketing, you probably followed this exact same pattern.
The calls are full of energy and hype, and by the time you get off the call, you feel like you can sign up your whole neighborhood! That kind of energy is great, but don’t let it fool you. Those calls are designed to get you feeling like that and here’s why.
Network marketing companies depend on those who join to go out and build a down line. Without new people coming into the company, it’s not going to survive. So they need to get you excited so that you’ll go out and tell the world how excited you are to be a part of something great…..but does it last?
The answer is no for most people and the reason why is that the methods they are using to get their message across to prospects is completely wrong. Most people when they first start out will tell anyone they come in contact with about the opportunity they are currently in. Problem is, these people are not in the mind frame to join that they are talking about. You may get one or two people this way, but you are going to wind up frustrated.
Now, enter the Internet. The Internet is the best thing to happen to network marketing opportunities EVER. It’s such a huge advertisement platform, that you can literally get your offer out in front of millions of people in a matter of minutes. But…
You don’t want to market your MLM program to potential business opportunity seekers in the beginning. You will eventually get to that point, but leading with your main program is a big mistake a lot of people make in their first year of network marketing.
